Carrots are seeded in the Franken garden. Potatoes, early, mid season and almost late season are planted in the Pasture Garden and the far west West Garden. The tunnels are full now, real full and taking off. The peas are up in two places outdoors, radishes, spinach, salad greens and more. Adrienne has done a wonderful job transplanting tomatoes from the speedling trays into 3 inch pots. She doesn't know it but the sweet peppers are next. That should give them room to grow till we see we are frost free during the first two weeks of May. Janna is planting brassicas and as soon as the trays are empty we refill them with potting mix and seed some more. All the germinating shelves are full. Pictures again soon.

We have been very busy. The key thing is that we feel good about yesterday. Janna and Madeline got 500 strawberry plants planted in 2 hours between 11 am and 1 pm! It rained the last half but not hard enough to make it muddy.

The tunnel crops are up and starting to good average to good. I will try get some pictures up soon. We also have outdoor peas in and up ( barely) and onions, radishes and other cool weather crops. Most of the big tiller tillage is done here.

The gilts are ready to go the Mike Hibmas to have their piglets, he is supposed to pick them up this week. They look like they will farrow soon.

Maxine had her calf the other day, I looked about 3 and looked like she had for 3 weeks, and then when I turned the tractor around in the field and look in her direction she was licking a calf about 5. The calf is a nice chocolate brown color, no white anywhere.

The first broiler chicks arrived two weeks ago and should be out on grass by Thursday!

John, Janna, Madeline and Adrienne spent three days last week at the Organic Farming conference put on by MOSES in La Crosse WI. It was very good. Janna did some some seeding into trays/flats this morning and the lettuce germinated while we were gone. Our first mailing of CSA brochures are in the mail to potenital customers. We are so looking forward to spring!
